General MacArthur
General MacArthur was in charge of the American military force and played a major part in the Korean War. He attempted a risky pincer attack on the North Korean Army in Inchon, although risky it proved successfull and therefore forcing the North Koreans to retreat. General MacArthur then had the choice to stay at the 38th parralel and wait for the UN or cross to the North Korean Border. China had warned the Americans not to presue any further, however MacArthurs intelligence officers thought that the Chinese were not a threat and decided to push on forward. Due to general MacArthur's actions the Amercians were soon surronded by chinese assualt and had no option but to blow themesleves to escape and retreated all the way past the 38th parralel which took a whole month. However if it wasn't MacArthurs incisive decisions the policy of containment would have been yet another failure and this would only make Trueman seem weak.
